The ‘Cinque Vie’ farm was established in 1911, when Mario Boninsegni enlarged the traditional family farm through the purchase of another farm called LE CINQUE VIE. It was made up of a farmhouse and arable land intertwined with vineyards. IWe still own the purchase contract, drawn up the 29th December 1911, with the relevant evaluation of livestock, land and buildings. At that time ‘Cinque Vie’ was a multi-purpose farm where different crops were cultivated and livestock was bred, as it occurred in almost most farms. Boninsegni, who was very keen on wine-making, decided to change the core business of the farm: in the 1960s the first vineyards with typical Tuscany varieties, are planted. At the beginning wine was sold mainly in demijohns. In the following years, thanks to market evolution and the participation in the business of Mario's sons, Giovanni and Giuseppe, the farm becomes an entrepreneurial activity. The production switches to high quality bottled wines. All this is 'Cinque Vie', a farm where mutual trust in strong relationships between men and the full respect of traditions proved far-sighted intuitions thanks to which we constantly improved the quality of our wine . |
